As part of the ruling BJP’s southern push, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday gave tips on mass electoral mobilisation to party workers in Kerala telling them that the path to poll victory passed through booths.
Every voter counts
For that you (BJP workers) must focus on every voter in every booth. You should have a list of each beneficiary in your booth, engage them, strike a personal rapport with them, meet their families. Narendra Modi, Prime Minister
“If we win booths, we will win Kerala... for that you must focus on every voter in every booth. You should have a list of each beneficiary in your booth, engage them, strike a personal rapport with them, meet their families,” Modi, BJP’s star campaigner, said addressing a gathering of 6,000 in charges of Shakti Kendras (a BJP organisational unit which consists of two to three booths each) in Kochi.
Describing the BJP as the “only party with a proven track record of speedy development and a clear vision for the future,” the PM asked party cadres to ensure that every eligible person in Kerala got the benefit of Central government schemes through the ongoing Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra wherein the government is reaching out to people to ensure last mile saturation of programmes.
The PM was speaking hours after offering prayers at the famous Sree Ramaswami Temple in Thrissur, where he also blessed some newlyweds.
With the Lok Sabha elections due, the BJP is eyeing gains in Kerala where it does not have any MP like in Andhra Pradesh and Tamil Nadu. The PM’s consistent outreach with the Christian community is part of the BJP’s urge to expand in Kerala. The Kerala centric campaign has been underway since March 2023 when the PM declared that after the northeast, Kerala would vote BJP and allies to power.
