Srinagar/Leh, July 31
J&K recorded 118 fresh Covid cases on Saturday, taking the UT’s infection tally to 3,21,462. The death toll stands at 4,378 as no new fatality has been reported in the last 24 hours, officials said.
Forty cases were reported from the Jammu division and 78 from the Kashmir division of the UT. Officials said Srinagar recorded the highest number of 19 new cases, followed by Baramulla district with 15.
In Ladakh, the active cases dropped to 50 after 14 more patients recovered from the disease. Four new cases pushed the overall tally in Ladakh to 20,328. Ladakh has registered 207 Covid-related deaths so far and 20,071 patients have recovered till date. Nearly 3,000 people were tested for Covid in the twin districts on Friday and four patients were found positive. — PTI
