Srinagar, January 25
A day ahead of Republic Day, the Army today said it foiled a major terror incident destroying an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) in south Kashmir’s Pulwama district on Thursday.
“#ChinarWarriors averted a major terror incident today by recovering and in situ destroying an IED on Badibagh-Pahoo Road, Pulwama,” Army’s Srinagar based Chinar Corps said in a post on X. “Indian Army remains resolute in its commitment to keep Kashmir terror-free.”
The police have already said that a multi-layer security grid has been put in place across J&K ahead of the Republic Day functions on January 26 to foil any possible attempts by militants to disrupt official functions.
Inspector General of Police (IGP), Kashmir, Vidhi Kumar Bhirdi, on Wednesday said all the security arrangements are in place. A multi-level security grid is on high alert to ensure smooth conduct of all official functions across the Valley.
