Labour Commissioner Charandeep Singh on Wednesday chaired a preparatory meeting regarding this year’s Amarnath Yatra with officials concerned. Detailed deliberations were held regarding the action plan for registration of service providers, including ponywalas, palkiwalas, pithuwalas and dandiwalas who come from various districts of J&K and facilitate pilgrims in their journey to the holy cave shrine from both the Pahalgam and the Baltal routes each year.

The Labour Commissioner asked the officials to gear up for timely and hassle-free registration of service providers. He said the department would facilitate advance registration of service providers both in their native districts and also at camps located in Ganderbal and Anantnag districts, besides ensuring timely and hassle-free issuance of RFID cards in their favour in coordination with the Shri Amarnath Shrine Board (SASB) and others.

Deputy Labour Commissioners of Jammu and Central, Deputy Director (Planning), Assistant Labour Commissioners of Ganderbal, Srinagar, Anantnag, Reasi and other areas were present.
