Phagwara, February 23

The Mahatpur (Nakodar) police have busted a gang of snatchers with the arrest of three persons.

Investigating officer (IO) Davinder Singh said the suspects had been identified as Gurpreet Singh, alias Gopi, a resident of Meon Wal village falling under the Bilga police station, Vishal, alias Kalu, a resident of Mohalla Shadi Khan, Mehatpur, and Gourav, a resident of Hari Pur village.

Kashmir Singh, a resident of Rai Pur Arariyan village, complained to the police that the suspects snatched a sum of Rs 8,200 from him by pointing a sharp weapon at him on February 9.

The investigating officer said a case under Sections 379-B (snatching) and 34 (committing a crime with common intention) of the IPC had been registered against the suspects.
