Nakodar, January 27

The Mehat Pur police have arrested two drug peddlers on the charge of selling poppy husk. Investigating officer (IO) Balwinder Singh said 20 kg of poppy husk and Rs 78,000 drug money were recovered from Gurmit Singh, alias Mita, and Sarabjit Singh, alias Saba, a resident of Umre Wal village. The police also impounded a vehicle in which they were travelling.

The Shahkot police arrested a woman drug peddler with 3 grams of heroin. The suspect had been identified as Manju, a resident of Mohalla Dhorra, Shahkot.
