Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) recently inaugurated the Korean Language Course at Korean Cultural Centre India, New Delhi. The Certificate in Korean Language and Culture is a six-month certificate programme. So far, 800 students have registered from various regions and this course can be taken by anyone who has passed the high school. Programme fee is Rs.2500 and enrolled students can take this course with a range of provided learning video and audio materials regardless of time and space constraint. Further to this benefit, students can avail time for question and answer through particular corner on radio channel operated at university itself. This course has come into existence with strong support of Korean Embassy in New Delhi in collaboration with IGNOU. It is expected to become a foothold to disseminate Korean language all over India by providing those who are deprived of learning opportunities due to several reasons with Korean language regular class. — TNS
