Sayantani Ghosh, who will next be seen in Sony Sab’s new show Tera Yaar Hoon Main, opened up about her character Daljeet Bagga.
She says, “This is the second time I have got an opportunity to play a stepmother and I am lucky enough to have broken the stereotypes and change the mindset of people, who think that stepmoms are grey-shaded characters. The bond my character Daljeet has formed with Trishala while still trying to befriend Rishabh is very special and unbreakable. The show showcases few connections in our life that are made from our heart and soul. I have always felt excited to be a part of this changing culture of redefining a cliched or a typical mindset where a stepmom is seen in a negative light.”
She added, “I do agree that there’s a typical mindset and a cliche that stepmoms are the cruel ones. I have done two shows playing a stepmother and as Daljeet in Tera Yaar Hoon Main, I feel that the bonds you form from the heart and the soul are what matters, and such is a bond that Daljeet and Trishala share in the show. It is truly said that a mother doesn’t see any difference between her children and others. She knows how to love everyone equally and with a warm heart. So, I think every step-parent and step-child should be given a chance to nurture their relationship and they should start afresh and become friends first, the rest can all fall into place later.”
