Five days after three persons kidnapped and thrashed a youth over a monetary dispute. the police have registered an FIR against the accused, identified as Sahil of Bhamian and two unidentified persons, on Friday.

The complainant, Tulli of Sarpanch Colony, Bhamian, said in May this year, he had sold a smartphone to Sahil at Rs 55,000. After buying the phone, the accused started calling him and said he suffered a loss of Rs 11,000 by buying the mobile phone. They asked him to compensate the loss.

He alleged that on July 31, when he was going to Bhamian on his motorcycle, the three accused rammed their car into his motorcycle.

After he fell on the road, they kidnapped him and took him to some place in Jamalpur where they thrashed him and asked to give them Rs 11,000, the complainant said

He said when he refused to give the money, the accused repeatedly thrashed him and also threatened to kill him if the money was not given.

The victim said somehow, he managed to flee the spot and lodged a police complaint in this regard. Five days after lodging the complaint, the police yesterday registered a case against the trio.

Investigating officer in the case ASI Gurcharan Singh said raids were being conducted to nab the accused.
