Three girls from the city have been selected to represent the state in the upcoming All-India Inter State (U-19) Cricket Tournament, scheduled to be held at Jaipur in Rajasthan from September 28 to October 4.

Satish Mangal and Anupam Kumaria, president and general secretary of the Ludhiana District Cricket Association (LDCA), said four players from the city — Aishmine Kaur, Moli Gosal, Avneet Kaur and Akanksha Saini – along with other cricketers from across the state, were called to attend a camp, organised by the Punjab Cricket Association (PCA) at Barnala from September 5 to 10.

At the conclusion of this camp, Aishmine, Moli and Avneet figured in the list of selected players for the national championship, to be conducted by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI).

The LDCA president and secretary, besides members of the executive body, congratulated the girls on their selection for the championship. — OC
