Ludhiana, April 2

A resident of Shimlapuri has tested positive for Covid-19. She has no overseas travel history but she travelled to Mohali by bus to meet her niece on March 17. On March 23, she started having symptoms of Covid-19. On March 31, her condition worsened and she was brought to Fortis Hospital in an ambulance.

Her sample was taken yesterday. She has been put on a ventilator.

The Civil Surgeon, Dr Rajesh Bagga, confirmed the woman being tested positive. With this case, the count of positive patients from Ludhiana has gone up to four.

Meanwhile, two suspected Covid-19 patients, who were admitted to Christian Medical College and Hospital today, died. However, their reports came out to be negative.

Civil Hospital ‘serai’ turned into emergency ward

Meanwhile, the “serai” at Civil Hospital, which has been lying locked for years, has been turned into Emergency. Quarantine and isolation wards have been set up in the same building. Now, emergency patients will have to be taken to the new set-up while those, who need to be quarantined, will be kept in the earlier Emergency ward of Civil Hospital.
