The police said Gurdev Singh, a resident of 74 HJ, Punjab Housing Board Colony, Bhai Randhir Singh Nagar, had lodged a complaint that the suspects had taken Rs 6.35 lakh from him on the promise of sending his son Harpreet Singh to Canada. “The suspects had failed to get immigration and other documents for sending his son to Canada and also refused to refund the money paid by him,” said Gurdev.

The police said in preliminary investigation, the allegations were found to be true and accordingly, a case was registered against the directors of the firm. No arrest has been made yet.
