The city police claimed to have arrested two more suspects in a firing incident wherein a 20-year-old youth, Kartik Baggan, was shot at near Naulakha Garden colony here on Saturday night.

The key accused, Karan Kalia, was arrested yesterday, while two of his aides namely Kunal Sharma, alias Abhay, and Sameer Malik, both from Dharampura, were arrested today. The police also recovered a .32-bore pistol and two live cartridges from their possession.

Police Commissioner (CP) Kaustubh Sharma, Joint CP (City) Narinder Bhargav, ADCP Parminder Heer, ACP Harsimrat Chetra and SHO Inspector Sukhdev Singh held a press conference in this regard here today.

Kunal, one of the suspects, has a criminal past. Three cases were already registered against him at the Police Division 3 in the past. He was out of bail in all these cases.

Police Commissioner Kaustubh Sharma said police parties were conducting raids to nab the remaining suspects, adding that anyone taking law and order into their hands would not be spared.
