Amid the pandemic situation, city-based Weltech Equipment and Infrastructure Limited has come to the rescue of those in need of oxygen cylinders. The company has been providing oxygen cylinders to the needy patients free of cost.

Increasing demand

The demand for oxygen cylinders has increased. The daily demand from hospitals has gone to 1,200-1,500 cylinders. The individual requirement, according to the calls the company receives, is around 250-300 cylinders.

“Being an oxygen manufacturer, the Weltech team wants to be there for those in need during this Covid-19 pandemic. The demand for oxygen cylinders has increased and we are providing oxygen cylinders free of cost to those in need. One just has to pay delivery charges and in case a person is not able to pay even that, then we arrange for oxygen absolutely free of cost,” said Gagandeep Singh from Weltech.

“We supply medical oxygen for free to the needy, specially those who are in isolation or at home and are suffering from other ailments such as asthma, cancer or lung problem. The idea of helping those in need came when one day I got a call from a woman who was in dire need of an oxygen cylinder for her child. We came to know from her that the re-fillers were charging double the price of gas. The helpless voice of the woman made me think and I decided to help people in need, as there could be many more like her,” he added.
