Ludhiana, June 15
Trainees of Ashok Karate School, Ludhiana won 11 medals in the Dubai International Karate Competition held on June 12 at Dubai, UAE. Around 500 participants drawn from Malaysia, Singapore, Dubai, Nepal, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Indonesia besides India took part in different age groups in this competition held at Kent College Indoor Stadium, Dubai.
Eleven players from the city participated in this event and all of them finished among the first three position.
Sheehan Ashok Chauhan, director of karate school said Kunwar Partap Singh clinched gold medal in the under 10 years age category while three silver medalists were Arhaan Malhotra (U-10), Ekamvir Singh Gill (U-11) and Damanpreet Singh (U-9).
Besides, players from this school bagged seven bronze medals. They include Prabhjot Kaur (U-11), Navdeep Singh Tatla (U-12), Aditya Singh (U-11), Veerat Singh Gill (13), Bavan Preet Singh (U-12), Gursher Singh (U-11) and Hashmeet Singh (U-14).
Rakesh Kumar, vice president, District Karate Association, Ludhiana congratulated the players on their achievement. This would motivate them to achieve more heights in future competitions.
