Ludhiana, February 21

Several assailants pelted stones and opened fire at a house in Jot Enclave on the Manakwal road on Monday night. They had a property dispute with the house owner which was said to be the cause of attack.

The Sadar police yesterday registered a case under various sections of the IPC and under the Arms Act against the suspects identified as Kuldeep Singh, Kulwant Singh of Harnam Nagar, Charanjit Singh Bhatia of Sua road, Parminder Singh of Jagraon bridge and Paramjit Singh of Gill Road.

The complainant, Jaswant Singh, said on the night of February 19, the suspects came outside their house and started pelting stones at the gate. They also tried to break open the gate by hitting it by swords. They had threatened that if he would not vacate the house, he will be killed. The miscreants also opened three bullets at the gate to intimidate him.

Jaswant said he had a property dispute with the suspects and they wanted to take possession of his house. Earlier also, they had attacked him on various occasions.

Investigating officer ASI Satwinder Singh said raids were on to nab them.
