Ludhiana: Moot Court Society (MCS), University Institute of Laws, Panjab University Regional Centre (PURC), Ludhiana, organised the 4th National Moot Court Competition from February 27 to 29. The event was held under the guidance of Aman Amrit Cheema and faculty coordinators Harmeet Singh Sandhu, Aditi Sharma and co-cordinators Nisha Jindal and Tamnna Kohli. The final day commenced with the draw of lots, semi-finals, finals and valedictory session. A total of 28 teams from different law universities and colleges were present, out of which 4 teams were selected for the semi-finals. The title of best team was awarded to Mehak, Aditya Chauhan and Yash Parmar (Department of Laws , Panjab University, Chandigarh). Saummya Malhotra, Sanya Luthra and Akaanksha Singh (Dr BR Ambedkar National Law University, Sonipat) were declared the runners-up. The title of the best speaker was awarded to Aditya Chauhan (Department of Laws, Chandigarh). The best memorial title was awarded to Aastha, Esha Singh and Aditya Chopra (Lloyd School of Law, Greater Noida). Besides, title of the best researcher was awarded to Vikramjit Singh (Lovely Professional University).
Government College Ludhiana
Government College Ludhiana (East) hosted the play ‘Bhasha Vahinda Darya’, written by Sompal Hira, dedicated to the importance of the mother tongue. Mukesh Alam, a poet, was the chief guest, and Virender Jetwali, a comic poet, and Rupali Chopra were special guests. Manpreet Kaur delivered a short speech, sharing insights into the significance of mother language. Principal Deepak Chopra honoured the guests with a memento.
