A shopkeeper was attacked at the Pink Plaza market by several persons. The incident was captured on CCTV cameras installed at the shop.
The complainant, Inderjit Singh Pamma, who owns a garment shop in the market, said a notorious person of the area came to his shop along with around 12 persons and attacked him. “The key suspect gives shelter to gamblers, who used to gamble in a hotel near Clock Tower. He suspected that I am going to inform the police about this illegal activity. He attacked me and threatened me with dire consequences. I also suffered minor injuries in the attack,” he alleged.
Inderjit alleged the assailants also took away his Activa scooter and his mobile phone.
Kotwali station house officer Harjit Singh said after receiving the complaint, the police launched investigation and legal proceedings would be initiated accordingly.
