Congress-ruled Rajasthan on Saturday decided to impose a night curfew in the eight most COVID affected-cities of the state to break the chain of pandemic transmission.
The curfew will be imposed in Jaipur, Jodhpur, Ajmer, Alwar, Udaipur, Bhilwara, Kota and Bikaner.
The decision was taken at a late evening meeting of the Rajasthan cabinet on Saturday.
Chief minister Ashok Gehlot chaired the meeting in which other wide-ranging decisions were also taken.
Rajasthan is among ten states contributing the maximum daily COVID infections.
Of the 46,232 infections on Saturday the state contributed 2762.
