Hailing modern-day scientists as saints who worked through the last year to develop two made in India vaccines, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday urged people to trust the safety of inoculation process and get vaccinated.

- Addressing the 18th convocation of Tezpur University, Assam, PM Modi stressed on the team’s resilience as he explained how today’s youth had a distinctive way of taking on the challenges.
During an interaction with health workers from his Lok Sabha constituency Varanasi, the PM was pleasantly surprised when a community health staffer told him that she was back to work the day she took her shot. “You vaccinated 87 persons after getting your own Covid shot! You did so much work the day you were vaccinated!” a pleasantly surprised PM said to Shrinkhala Chauhan, a Covid vaccinator.
Pushpa Devi, a matron, thanked the Centre for including health workers in Phase 1 of the inoculation. When the PM asked her to say something to those who have concerns about vaccine safety, Pushpa Devi said, “The vaccine is safe.”
