Zirakpur: Members of farmer organisations today got the Azizpur toll plaza on the Zirakpur-Patiala road closed in protest against the farm Acts. They allowed vehicles to go without paying the toll fee. They sat on the road near the toll plaza, disrupting the movement of traffic. Protesters said the new laws were against farmers and in favour of big corporates. TNS

Driver held with 318 cases of liquor

Chandigarh: The police have arrested a truck driver with 318 boxes of liquor. According to information, the suspect Rohit, a resident of Panipat, was arrested at a joint naka laid in Zirakpur. The police recovered 318 boxes of liquor of the Imperial Blue brand from his truck (bearing registration No. BR-02-GA-4947). The liquor was meant for sale in Chandigarh. TNS
