During the flag-off ceremony of a ‘Sadbhavna’ rally, which commenced from Prof Gursewak Singh Government College of Physical Education here Member of Parliament (MP) Preneet Kaur said, “India is a secular country. We will not allow destruction of its social fabric.”
Citing the example of Baba Ala Singh’s ‘jot’ she said, “Patiala district has a tradition of respecting each and every religion and celebrating each-other’s festivals.”
“The rally, which will pass through temples, gurdwaras, masjids and churches will give a direction to society,” she added.
The MP also exhorted the youth to participate to make the city plastic-free on the occasion.
