Deepak Vinayak, a Melbourne-based Indian hailing from Rampura Phul in Bathinda, has been awarded the Medal of Order of Australia (OAM) for his services toward multicultural communities in Victoria state.
The award was presented to Vinayak, whose social work has already been acknowledged with a number of other awards, at the Victoria Governor House on Thursday in the presence of his family members and Punjabi community members.
“I am elated to get so much of love, support and encouragement from the people and government of Australia,” said Vianayak, while talking to The Tribune over the phone. — TNS
