Payal, December 9
Accusing the BJP of exploiting the emotions of Punjabis on the pretext of withdrawing the three farm laws, Chief Minister Charanjit Singh Channi today took a swipe at Prime Minister Narendra Modi, saying he had not done any favour by repealing the laws.
Talking to mediapersons after a rally at the local grain market, Channi said: “Modi has done no favour to farmers of Punjabis by withdrawing the laws as the state has sacrificed 700 lives during the year-long morcha by farmer unions.” Accusing the BJP, SAD and former CM Capt Amarinder Singh of being hand in glove in “looting” the state exchequer, Channi said people of the state would give them a befitting reply in the upcoming elections. Slamming AAP national convener Arvind Kejriwal, Channi equated him with the British, who came in as traders and left after looting the nation’s resources. — OC
