Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann on Friday expressed profound grief over the martyrdom of 23-year-old Army jawan Ajay Singh.

The CM said Agniveer Ajay Singh, who hailed from village Ramgarh Sardaran near Khanna, attained martyrdom in a landmine blast. Mann said the brave jawan laid down his life while performing duty in Jammu and Kashmir.

He said it was an irreparable loss for the country in general and for the distressed family in particular. Mann extended sympathies with the bereaved family and said the government was with his family in this hour of crisis. Mann also said monetary assistance would also be extended to the bereaved family.
