Amritsar, April 14
The police have initiated legal proceedings against a juvenile for accidentally burning Sikh religious books kept in a small wooden almirah at a house in Guru Nanak Pura in the Kot Khalsa area.
The news spread like a wildfire and activists of a sikh religious group arrived on the spot. JS Walia, ADCP, said a teenager while playing on the rooftop left the cotton burning due to which a wooden almirah containing religious books caught fire. It was an accidental fire, he said, adding that a case would be registered. — TNS
