BKU spokesman Rakesh Tikait today warned the central government in unambiguous terms that if the three farm laws were not withdrawn, the next action of the ongoing agitation would be to demolish godowns of some private companies.

At a ‘Kisan Mahapanchayat’ held today on the call of the Samyukt Kisan Morcha (SKM) in Sriganganagar, 40 km from Abohar, Tikait said a few private companies had constructed huge godowns and started storing grains even when the new farm laws were in abeyance. The BJP-led NDA government was planning to sell banks, insurance companies and other government enterprises to private players. The government was going to bring laws that milk, electricity, fertilisers, seeds and motor vehicles marketing will go into the hands of a few corporates.

He exhorted the youth to take charge of the farmers’ movement and turn to fields and create jobs for themselves. Tikait said the media was not carrying news of the farmer movements in Karnataka, Tamil Nadu and other parts of the country, but we would reach people through social media. In Orissa and Madhya Pradesh, the MSP procurement movement was going to start in the next 15-20 days.

Morcha leader Yudhveer Singh said: “‘Modi bhagao, desh bachao’ call has to be given. Hardeep Singh Dibdiba, chairman, Rajasthan Gurdwara Prabandhak Committee (ad hoc) said a youth rally will leave Moga on March 25 for the Singhu border.
