Gurugram, April 12

Three bookies were arrested in a house in Sushant Lok while they were betting on an ongoing IPL cricket match last night. An FIR has been registered and the police seized four mobiles, one laptop and a notepad from their possession. The accused were produced in a city court today, but later granted bail.

Acting on a tip-off, a police team of the crime unit, sector 17, led by unit head Inspector Narender Chauhan raided a house in the Sushant Lok area last night when the trio was busy betting. When the police entered the house, they saw one of them talking on phones and the other writing in a register while a cricket match was on a laptop screen in front of them. “The accused were betting on the ongoing IPL cricket match between Hyderabad and Kolkata. The house owner was not there and we are investigating into the matter and are looking for the house owner to nab him”, said Investigating Officer Inspector Narender Chauhan.
