87,368 students enrolled by govt schools

AMRITSAR: As many as 87,368 students have been enrolled in Classes VI-XII in government schools of the district under ‘Each One Bring One’ enrolment campaign that was started by the Education Department on April 1.

As many as 87,368 students have been enrolled in Classes VI-XII in government schools of the district under ‘Each One Bring One’ enrolment campaign that was started by the Education Department on April 1.

The education authorities have also been instructed to increase the number of students in government schools as part of the drive. The drive aims at attracting students by informing them about the benefits of studying in government schools. The department has also asked the government schoolteachers and DEOs to focus on increasing the number of students.

Deputy DEO (Secondary) Rajesh Sharma said, “We are trying to increase the number of students. We also held meeting of school principals. We have asked principals and teachers to create awareness about the benefits of government schools. We are also starting smart schools and English ones.”

“They will inform about the education quality being imparted to the students in our schools. We will continue to work hard,” he added.
