Artificial limbs distributed

AMRITSAR: NGO Bharat Vikas Parishad, Amritsar Central, in collaboration with National Small Industries Corporation Ltd, Bharat Vikas Parishad Charitable Trust, Punjab, and Chaitanya Mahaprabhu Mandir organised a camp to donate artificial limbs, hearing aids, wheelchairs and others to the needy people on the premises of Chaitanya Mahaprabhu Mandir here today.

NGO Bharat Vikas Parishad, Amritsar Central, in collaboration with National Small Industries Corporation Ltd, Bharat Vikas Parishad Charitable Trust, Punjab, and Chaitanya Mahaprabhu Mandir organised a camp to donate artificial limbs, hearing aids, wheelchairs and others to the needy people on the premises of Chaitanya Mahaprabhu Mandir here today.

The camp was organised under the supervision of the parishad president Prof HS Walia and project in-charge RD Sharma. The camp was inaugurated by chief guest Shwait Malik, Member of Parliament. Prof Walia stated that as per the recommendations of the team of medical experts, the physically-challenged people would get 42 hearing aids, 20 artificial limbs and calipers and two wheelchairs.

He also elaborated various projects and activities being undertaken by their branch in the recent past. The main focus of such activities was to uplift the deprived and underprivileged strata of society and to sensitise people to their duties, he said.

Malik lauded the efforts of the members of the parishad for organising the camp and undertaking various social activities.
