The local police have booked four persons for allegedly hurting the religious sentiments of a Sikh man and thrashing him.

Lovepreet Singh Babbu, a resident of Jandwala Charhat Singh village, who is a driver, told the police that on November 6, he, along with his brother, was traveling in a pick-up vehicle when Gurwinder Singh, along with Sonu, Lovepreet and Thandu, all residents of Malout village, came and shorn his hair by force.

A case has registered against suspects in this regard. However, they are yet to be arrested.

Sarwan Singh, father of the victim, said the suspects had hurt their religious sentiments. “First, Gurwinder had levelled false allegations against my son that he had an affair with his wife. Thereafter, he, along with others, cut the hair of my son,” said Sarwan.
