NGOs, admn organise voter awareness rally

A voter awareness rally was organised today by various NGOs at the Fire Brigade Chowk in the city. The rally was flagged off by Additional Deputy Commissioner (development) Sheena Aggarwal.

The rally passed through major markets in the city and concluded at the Fire Brigade Chowk. Volunteers carried placards and raised slogans like “Na nashe se, na note se, desh badlega vote se” and “Baccha baccha kare pukar, vote hamara hai adhikar”.

While addressing volunteers, the ADC said the rally was aimed at creating awareness among voters. She appealed to all voters to cast their vote and participate in the voting process without any fear and favour to strengthen the democratic system. The administration and the organisations encouraged voters in the district to come out and exercise their right to vote.

Yog Sewa Samiti chairman Prof NK Gosian, Yog Sewa Samiti president Radhe Sham Bansal, Asra Welfare Society president Ramesh Mehta, Pardeep Sharma, Bathinda Vikas Manch president Rakesh Narula were present on the occasion.
