Mohali: The Rayat Bahra International School (RBIS) celebrated its first annual athletics meet.



Mohali: The Rayat Bahra International School (RBIS) celebrated its first annual athletics meet. Students of the four houses-- Love, Peace, Hope, Unity—participated in a march past. Head boy Ishwarveer Singh and head girl Sharanjeet Kaur with the captains of all the houses administered a pledge to maintain discipline in the school. Gurvinder Singh Bahra, Chairman of the Rayat Bahra Group, along with the chief guest distributed medals among the students who excelled in different events. International basketball player Kiranjeet Kaur, Manjit Bahra and Dr Daljit Singh Vice-Chancellor of the Rayat Bahra University, were among other prominent personalities present on the occasion.  

Rajat shines in Technocrats’ win 

Chandigarh:  Rajat Mor scored a quick fire 77 off 34 balls to help Technocrats XI register a eight-wicket win over YDC in the ongoing 10th Independence Corporate Trophy. Chasing 142 runs, Technocrats posted 145/2 in 11.2 overs. Mor’s innings was supported by Ashok Malik (35) and Bharat (14). Rummy (1/21) was the only main wicket taker for the bowling side. Earlier, YDC posted 142 runs before getting all-out in 19.2 overs. Their innings was supported by Gourav (26), Aditya (21) and Varun Rana (18). Sumit Malik was the pick of the team as he claimed 4/17, while Sumith Hooda took 3/ 20.

LWCC beat NCC in cricket 

Chandigarh: Livewire Coaching Center (LWCC) registered a 10-wicket win over Namaste Chandigarh Complex (NCC) in the opening match of the Akhand Bharat Cricket Tournament. Batting first, NCC boys bundled out on 120 runs in 19.4 overs. Sohan (22), Nishant Sylvania (20) and Ashish (14) were the only main scorers for the side. Jasbir Singh returned with 3/30, while Pankaj (2/16) and Mithlesh (2/21) were the other main wicket takers. In reply, LWCC openers posted 121 without any loss in 10.5 overs. Arun Luthra (57) and Harvinder Singh (53) scored unbeaten contributions. TNS
