SUV occupant fooled, Rs 85,000 stolen

CHANDIGARH: A person stole a purse containing Rs 85,000, an iPhone and documents from an SUV after fooling the car occupant in Sector 22.

A person stole a purse containing Rs 85,000, an iPhone and documents from an SUV after fooling the car occupant in Sector 22.

According to the police, the complainant, Lovleen Kaur, a resident of Sector 71, Mohali, reported that she, along with her minor son and father Bhupinder Singh, had gone to Hotel Aroma. She went to the washroom while her father and son were sitting in the SUV. In the meantime, a person knocked on a windowpane of the SUV and told Bhupinder Singh that his money was lying on the road near the car.

The police said Bhupinder got down from the vehicle to check whether he had dropped his money. In the meantime, the accused stole the handbag belonging to Lovleen Kaur.

When Lovleen returned, she found her bag missing. The bag contained money, iPhone, documents, including the driving licence and voter card, and a debit card.
