Two youths attacked, robbed of bike

PANCHKULA: The local police booked unidentified youths for thrashing two Mani Majra residents in the Sector 7 market here today.

The local police booked unidentified youths for thrashing two Mani Majra residents in the Sector 7 market here today.

Abhishek Sharma, 19, a resident of Mani Majra, had come to the Sector 7 market on his motorcycle to buy a pizza. His friend Aslam, who came along with him on his own bike, was standing near a VITA booth in the market.

According to Abhishek, two cars, a Maruti Swift and a Hyundai i20, reached there from which about 10-12 youths, who were armed with sticks and rods, came out and allegedly attacked them. Their motorcycles were also allegedly damaged in the attack.

The victim claimed that the youths were drunk and before leaving, they allegedly forcibly took along his motorcycle also. His phone and sunglasses were also smashed.

Aslam, who sustained minor injuries, managed to escape from the spot. However, Abhishek was beaten up and had to be hospitalised.

A case has been registered at the Sector 5 police station.
