HOSHIARPUR:Various poll code violation notices were issued by returning officers (RO) to candidates, political parties and private persons in the district.

Various poll code violation notices were issued by returning officers (RO) to candidates, political parties and private persons in the district. A notice for violation was slapped on SAD candidate from Shamchurasi constituency Mohinder Kaur Josh by RO Dinesh Kumar Vashisht. Josh had opened an election office at Hariana. “There was a kind of rally with a gathering of 350 people and the loud speaker was used too but no permission was sought for it.”

In Urmar constituency, SAD candidate Arbinder Singh Rasoolpur was slapped notices regarding a calendar published by him carrying photographs of Sikh Gurus and a vehicle which was nabbed while being used for his electoral campaign without permission. A notice was issued to all political parties asking them to remove all advertisements. Also, seven such notices were issued to private persons for affixing flags and banners of political parties without permission. — OC
