Atrocities against women won’t be tolerated: Panel

KAITHAL: Kamlesh Panchal, chairperson of the Haryana Women Commission, today said a special campaign was under way to create awakening and build confidence among women about their rights.

Kamlesh Panchal, chairperson of the Haryana Women Commission, today said a special campaign was under way to create awakening and build confidence among women about their rights.

She said seminars and special camps were being organised at various places for this purpose. She was talking to mediapersons after getting information about two groups clashing at Deha Basti in Kaithal.

She said atrocities against women would not be tolerated. She said she had directed the police to take effective timely action in such cases. She said laxity would not be tolerated on this count.

She said she had got information about the group clash in Deha Basti from media reports. She said she had sought a report from the police.

She said she had sought a report on the alleged honour killing in Rohtak. The commsion would ensure that women felt safe, she said.

Earlier, Tarun Saini, DSP, provided information about the Deha Basti incident and action taken by the police in this connection.
