Bhiwani boxer bags bronze at int’l meet

BHIWANI: Naman Tanwar, another boxer from Bhiwani, made the country proud by winning a bronze medal at the AIBA Youth World Championships held in St Petersburg, Russia, recently.

Naman Tanwar, another boxer from Bhiwani, made the country proud by winning a bronze medal at the AIBA Youth World Championships held in St Petersburg, Russia, recently.

The medallist was felicitated during a ceremony organised at Bhagwati Dharmsala here.

Naman’s coach Vishnu Bhagwan said the bronze medallist had practised at local Bhim stadium and was at his best during the international competition.

Naman said though he missed the silver medal, he was aiming at winning a medal at the Asian Games next year and the Tokyo Olympics in 2020. He credited his success to his coach Vishnu Bhagwan and his parents.

It may be mentioned Sachin Siwach of Mitathal village in this district bagged the gold medal in the 49-kg category at the championship.
