Ajay Rana, member of the national executive of the BJP and spokesman for the state unit of the party, criticised Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh for initiating process of the acquisition of the Raghunath temple, Kullu, and termed the process as politically motivated.

He said till the time the Himachal Lokhit Party was supporting the Congress government, everything was right in the Raghunath temple. But when HLP leaders started raising voice against the policies of the Congress government and terming policies of the state government, headed by Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh as anti-public, a notification to acquire the temple was immediately issued.

He said the CM should know he was the Chief Minister of the elected government and he should not function with feudal mentality. He said the Raghunath temple was private property, even than the process for the acquisition of the temple was started to settle a score with HLP chief Maheshwar Singh.

He said the Chief Minister had misused his powers many times in the past and every time his action was proved illegal in court of law.
