Cath lab to start at Tanda hospital from 1st Navratra

A Cath lab built at the cost of Rs 5 core will be operational in the super-speciality wing of Tanda medical college from Navratras. Its trial run will start from September 26.

Dr Vinay Mahajan, Medical Superintendent, told mediapersons that open heart surgery would soon start in the super-specialty hospital. He said for the first time in the state, Fibroscan, a project worth Rs. 2.75 crore, for the early detection of the liver diseases would start functioning from the first Navratra in the hospital.

Dr Mahajan said for the benefit of the patients, besides SRL private laboratory in the hospital, now the DRPGMC Tanda laboratory too will be functional round the clock. Earlier this laboratory was functioning from 9.30 am to 12.30 pm.

He said that Rs 10 lakh provided by the Chief Minister was utilized for lighting the corridors of the medical college buildings. Within four to five months renovation and repairs of the toilets and improvement in the sanitation system of the hospital would be completed.

He said specialized treatment in cardiology, cardio vascular thoracic surgery, nephrology, gastroenterology, neurology and neuro surgery departments was available in this hospital now.

Dr Mahjan said Rs 50 lakhs would be spent on the purchase of new mattresses, beds, bed sheets, chairs for the attendants and bedside lockers.
