Union Minister of State for Finance Santosh Kumar Gangwar today said the implementation of the Goods and Services Tax had received a positive response. Addressing a seminar, which was organised as part of Pandit Deen Dayal Upadhyay Birth Centenary celebrations in Haridwar today, he asserted that any apprehension vis-à-vis the GST would be addressed and the confusion cleared.

He said uniform tax arrangements like GST benefitted one and all.

“Presently six crore of the total 120 crore population are paying taxes, which includes 4 crore government employees, two crore traders and others. The number of tax payers is set to increase post-demonetisation,” Gangwar pointed.

He said Modi government at Centre was working for the benefit of one and all and asserted that the Central government wanted to take the country to new heights of progress and does not want to be in power for the sake of being in power.

Large number of BJP leaders from Haridwar were also present at the seminar.
