Haryana Pradesh Congress Committee (HPCC) chief Dr Ashok Tanwar today started the second phase of his Kisan Mazdoor Samvad Yatra from Vishavkarma Dharmshala in Narwana. However, none from former Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda’s group attended the start of yatra, despite an open invitation by Tanwar.

Tanwar alleged that ongoing farce over yoga was an attempt of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) to regain its lost ground through the BJP.

“We all practice yoga as a personal exercise to keep ourselves fit. But the saffronisation of yoga by the BJP is an attempt of the frustrated RSS to increase its numbers, which have been dwindling for the past many years as people have got aware of the real communal face of the RSS,” Tanwar alleged.

Former Haryana Cabinet minister Capt Ajay Yadav, former Punjab Chief Minister Rajinder Kaul Bhathal and around 25 senior Congress leaders were present on the occasion

“The BJP wants to promote the business interest of some Babas and within the coming some days, all will see how these Babas would earn crores under the name of yoga from the state. The BJP invited top industrialists and officers to Rajpath in New Delhi, but not a single farmer was invited which exposed their real pro-corporate face,” said Tanwar.

During the second phase, Tanwar along with his supporters will cover 133 km of Jind, Fatehabad and Hisar districts. Today, he would spend a night in Kalwan village, which is the last village of Jind, and restart his yatra tomorrow morning.

He alleged that before coming to power, the BJP had made total 156 promises with the residents of Haryana, but not a single has been completed. He dared Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar for an open debate to prove his allegations of lack of development.

Tanwar alleged that since the present BJP government does not have any idea for development, it has started re-launching social welfare schemes of the Congress government by changing their names.

Tanwar started the first phase of his yatra on May 29 from Yamunanagar and covered Yamunanagar, Kurukshetra and Karnal districts and it culminated at Karnal on June 1.

“I had invited all Congress leaders and want to support all and take support of all,” Tanwar said when asked about the absence of Congress leaders.
