Parents protest DC’s meeting with schools

‘All Schools Parents Association’ today held a protest outside Bachat Bhawan against the meeting of Ludhiana Deputy Commissioner and city private schools.

‘All Schools Parents Association’ today held a protest outside Bachat Bhawan against the meeting of Ludhiana Deputy Commissioner and city private schools.

Over 200 parents from different schools participated in this protest. They also tied black strips on their hands and heads. They raised slogans against school mafia and DC Pardeel Aggarwal.

Parents of different school associations include Bal Bharti Public School, Guru Nanak Public School, BCM School Chandigarh, BCM School Shastri Nagar, BCM School Dugri, BMC School Basant City and many others were present.

“Punjab government is silent on loot in the name of annual charges, readmission, development funds, activity charges, smart classes, computer charges, other charges sale of books in particular seller and change the books every year. This raises apprehension that government and schools are hand in gloves” protesting parents alleged.

Schools told to follow guidelines

DC Pardeep Aggarwal in a meeting with schools officials asked them to follow the guidelines regarding of government pertaining to the fees hike, availability of books and other annoucements affecting the students. He asked schools to follow the recent decision of government about the maximum upto 8 per cent hike in schools fees in a year. He also cautioned them to not increase even a one per cent hike if not required. The DTO who was also present in the meeting raised the issue of lathargic approach of schools in following the guidelines of safe vahan policy.
