Arms seized in Kupwara

The police and security forces have recovered a large quantity of arms and ammunition from a hideout in the Handwara area of Kupwara district.

The police and security forces have recovered a large quantity of arms and ammunition from a hideout in the Handwara area of Kupwara district.

A police spokesman said here today that the police and the 6 Rashtriya Rifles, in a joint operation in the Waligam forests of Handwara, busted a hideout.

The recoveries from the hideout included one AK-47, 1,450 of AK rounds, 170 Pika rounds, 20 UBGL grenades, nine detonators, three IED RC, one Benet cover, four RPG rods and two RPG boosters.
