DEHRADUN:The Uttarakhand Government’s ‘Mera Gaon Meri Sadak Yojana’ is proving beneficial for scaling up rural connectivity efforts in unconnected parts of the state.

Dehradun, May 27

The Uttarakhand Government’s ‘Mera Gaon Meri Sadak Yojana’ is proving beneficial for scaling up rural connectivity efforts in unconnected parts of the state.

In Uttarakhand under the scheme, one km of road is constructed so that it gets connected with the nearest road head. The construction of concrete and cement road is aimed at boosting rural connectivity in  interiors parts of the state.

Uttarakhand along with Bihar, Chattisgarh, Rajasthan, Odisha and Jharkhand account for 80 per cent of the 65,000 unconnected habitations in the country.—TNS
