Rohtak MP Deepender Hooda attacked the BJP governments at the Centre and in the state over demonetisation and ignoring interests of farmers.

Both the governments had deceived every section of society by not keeping their promises made during the Lok Sabha and Vidhan Sabha elections, he said, while speaking at a public meeting organised by former minister Jaswant Singh in Nangal Teju village in the district last evening under the Congress’ Jan Vedna campaign.

“The demonetisation has not only rendered large numbers of industrial workers jobless across the nation but also adversely affected trade, industry, transport, realty market and home economy. Many industrial units are on the verge of closure. Even, common people have also suffered a major setback due to scrapping of high-value currency notes as they are struggling to withdraw their money from banks,” he said.

The MP said farmers were feeling deceived across the state as the state government was executing anti-farmers policies instead of keeping its promise of implementing the Swaminathan Commission report.

“Farmers have been struggling to get compensation for their crop loss for the past several months despite adopting the Prime Minister Fasal Bima Yojana, but the state government is not paying any heed towards their plight,” he said.
