Three killed as mini-bus meets with accident in Tehri Garhwal

MUSSOORIE: Three persons were killed while three others injured when a mini-bus lost control and fell into a deep gorge near Tachla Bemund village in Tehri Garhwal district today.

Mussoorie, July 23

Three persons were killed while three others injured when a mini-bus lost control and fell into a deep gorge near Tachla Bemund village in Tehri Garhwal district today.

The rescue team rushed to the spot and pulled out all six passengers out of which three succumbed to their injuries while three others were taken to government hospitals.

The deceased have been identified as Rakesh (45) and Moti Singh (30). The identity of woman was yet to be ascertained.

Umed Singh (35) has been admitted to the Public Health Centre, Chamba, while Chat Singh (55) has been admitted to the Narendra Nagar hospital. He was referred to the higher centre due to a head injury. The third injured Harshmani (60) was admitted to the District Hospital, Baurari. He was also referred to a Dehradun hospital due to a head injury. All three are said to be out of danger.

The police have sent the bodies for a post-mortem examination. The District Magistrate, Tehri, has announced Rs 4 lakh as ex-gratia to the families of the deceased.

He directed all SDMs to prepare a detailed report of the accidents and submitit at the earliest. — TNS
