Jammu, September 16

Jammu for India (JFI) and Panun Kashmir today paid tribute to one of the founders of Bharatiya Jana Sangh and son of the soil late Prof Balraj Madhok.

A large number of people participated in the ‘shradhanjali samaroh’ and paid tributes to him.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr Madhuri Madhok, Balraj Madhok’s daughter, said that he was clear about his ideology, thoughts and vision for the Indian nation.

“My father believed that India should be made a Hindu Rashtra and J&K be trifurcated into three regions. But after the exodus of Kashmiri Pandits from the Valley, he became a strong votary of quadrification, Jammu state, Ladakh UT, Panun Kashmir with UT status and Kashmir,” Madhuri Madhok said.

Prof Hari Om, convenor, JFI, said he had started writing for the trifurcation of Jammu and Kashmir by taking inspiration from Syama Prasad Mookerjee and Prof Balraj Madhok.

Ajay Chrungoo, chairman, Panun Kashmir, recalled his first meeting with Madhok after the ‘Marg Darshan’ resolution was adopted by Pandits seeking a separate homeland.

Others who attended the event included Shakti Madhok, Yuvraj Gupta, veteran RSS leader, and Agnishekhar, chairman and convener, Panun Kashmir.
