Govt focusing on infra growth: Speaker

Speaker, J&K Legislative Assembly, Kavinder Gupta and Minister for Public Health Engineering, Irrigation and Flood Control Sham Lal Choudhary on Sunday inaugurated a newly constructed office complex of the J&K State Water Resources Regulatory Authority at Satwari.

Spread over six kanals, the double-storey complex constructed at a cost of Rs 5.64 crore has a 650 sq metre plinth and 1,350 sq metre covered area.

The spacious complex comprising 16 rooms, conference and multipurpose halls has been equipped with all modern facilities. Besides large space for parking, there is a separate transformer, tube well and diesel generator set for the complex.

The speaker said focus was being laid on infrastructural development in all sectors.

He said various micro and mega projects had been completed and

work on some of them was underway.

Sham Lal Choudhary said the government was working on the creation of better infrastructure for employees.

He said the newly constructed complex equipped with required facilities had adequate space to accommodate offices of the authority and allied offices.

He said a congenial atmosphere in the complex would also help in improving the working condition and increasing the efficacy of employees.

The minister inaugurated lanes and drains in Chakroi village constructed at a cost of Rs 10 lakh.
