The Border Security Force (BSF) has flagged off its 19th ‘Bharat Darshan’ tour for children hailing from remote border areas of Jammu region.

Hardeep Singh, Deputy Inspector General, Jammu, flagged off the tour at BSF Frontier Headquarters, Paloura Camp, Jammu. Jammu BSF has been organising the tour since the last two decades. The objective is to give exposure to the children about the rich heritage, culture and grandeur of our nation.

This year, around 40 children, in the age group of 12 to 17 years, from humble backgrounds have been selected.

During the eight-days-long tour, children will get an opportunity to visit various monuments in Delhi and Chennai such as Marina beach, Marundeeswarar Temple, MGR Film City and many other places.

Singh said a man learnt something when he stepped out of his surroundings, and those selected for this tour were lucky ones.

Besides guarding the borders, the BSF is also playing an active role in national integration by conducting such tours.
